Local
Mayors' Committees Once each year these local committees meet for a full day prior to the Governor's Committee Quarterly Meeting and Training Conference. This biannual Leadership Conference consists of networking and sharing (Brag and Steal) each other's projects, activities and achievements. Presentations and other educational topics are also included on topics of interest to local affiliated chapters. As a Subcommittee of the Governor's Committee, representatives of each affiliated committee also convene during our other two quarterly meetings for shorter sessions. California
has over 30 affiliated community/mayors' committees located throughout
the state to promote the efforts of the California Governor's Committee
at the local level. These local activities are designed and carried
through by volunteer members of these affiliated committees. Their effectiveness
in reaching local employers proves the importance of having committees
"where the rubber meets the road."
